What a collapse
Aussies were chasing 146 against the Windies. With less than 50 runs to win, in almost 10 over, it was surely an Aussie win. But as often happens, a collapse took place. 19 runs in last 6 wickets. Windies won by 18 runs. Read about the records broken by this collapse
Side note - Absolutely love Fabien Allenâs celebration. Also Walsh Jr. has a nice loopy leg spinner. IPL take note. Match highlights heređ
The Incredibles
Is she the most stylish batter out there? No?
Is she the best better out there? Absolutely.
8 times as number one. Just incredible.
Mithali Raj returns to No. 1 among ODI batters, for the eighth time in her career
Mitali reached the latest peak in the ODI series being played in England. In the T20I series which followed, India has lost the first match by 18 runs (by D/L method). If there is one particular performance for which the match will be remembered, it will be for Harleen Deolâs superb catch. It was a gravity defying piece of athleticism. Some even questioned if it defied the rules of the game.
To paraphrase Nasser Hussain âNo way, Harleen Deol, you absolutely cannot do thatâ.
The English predicament
The English team had a bubble break last week and almost immediately was sent into isolation. Only issue was the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan. The board pulled the best of the rest from their respective county matches and some of them have impressed.
Two matches down, Phil Salt seems to be in T20 mood. The fast bowler Saqib Mahmood definitely made the most of the opportunity and has helped himself into the national pack. Who knows, may be a debut against Kohli led India might be on the cards. Saqib Mahmood in the series so far: 15 overs 53 runs conceded 6 wickets taken.
The biggest bit, he has got Babar out twice. In two games. Once of the outside edge and once beating the inside edge.
Oh btw
Retirement
Farewell Pankaj Singh. I promise this is the last time I will remember him with this image.
